Wet application
A coating requires a suitable substrate, appropriate temperature and moisture, correct thickness and sufficient curing. Reinforcement and primer may form part of the system. Installation instructions define permitted methods; a coating is not necessarily spray-only.
Dry installation
A factory-manufactured board moves part of material production away from the site. Handling, cutting, joints and fixings still require work. Even a dry-installed board system may use adhesives or details with temperature limits.
Compare the same function
Waterproofing is not the same as an additional fire-protection layer. An organic liquid waterproofing product may suit a tested roof without itself being an A1 mineral product. Compare function, complete build-up, labour and evidence rather than only the price of a bucket or board.
The right installation method matches the function, site conditions and demonstrated performance.
